The Department of Mathematics at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel is inviting applications for tenure-track and postdoctoral positions in the department.

Postdoctoral Positions in Mathematics

Candidates should have completed recently (not more than 4 years ago), or be about to complete, a Ph.D. in mathematics. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to cooperate with members of the department or with the research groups within the department.

• Non-Teaching Positions: the Center for Advanced Studies in Mathematics, supported by the Skirball foundation, sponsors several postdoctoral positions every year. Review of applications will begin on December 31 and will continue until all positions are filled. The fellowships start on October 1.
• Teaching Positions: Candidates capable of teaching in Hebrew can apply for teaching postdoctoral fellowships. The starting date for these positions is usually October 1.

Applicants are strongly encouraged to specify the researchers or research groups closest to their research area and to contact those researchers directly.

• American applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for a Fullbright Fellowship, which provides a substantial stipend awarded in addition to the customary postdoctoral fellowship offered by the Mathematics department. Applications must be submitted early; for example the deadline was in early August of 2010 for the fellowship beginning during the academic year 2011/12.


• Canadian applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for a fellowship in the Azrieli Fellows Program, which provides a substantial stipend.


• French applicants are strongly encouraged to apply for a Chateaubriand Fellowship, which provides a substantial stipend. Applications must be submitted until the second half of December each year.

Tenure-track Positions in Mathematics

The Department of Mathematics at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel is inviting applications for tenure track positions at all levels.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in mathematics, and demonstrate excellence in research and teaching. Candidates in all areas of mathematics will be considered. Mathematicians whose research lies in the area of Mathematical Education are encouraged to apply. All positions require teaching in Hebrew.

Applications will be reviewed on a continuing basis. Applicants are encouraged to apply before November 15, although late applications may be considered until the positions are filled.
