INTRODUCTION TO NUMERICAL ANALYSIS 202-1-3011

Instructor: Leonid Prigozhin
Schedule: Lectures: Monday 14.00-15.50, Wednesday 15.00-16.50 Exercises: Sunday 18.00-19.50 (once in two weeks).
Objectives:
To provide students with basic knowledge of numerical methods.
To introduce Matlab, a high level interactive numerical package that permits students
to increase quickly their understanding of numerical methods.

Assignments and grading:
There will be four homework assignments involving programming in Matlab.
Final grade: 40% - homework assignments, 60% - two midterms and final examination.

(a) Please, send to leonid@cs.bgu.ac.il an e-mail containing:
1. subject: Submission of assignment N, your ID number
2. attachments: each submitted program as a separate attachment
(b) The written report please submit to instructor in class or, better, send in the same e-mail as an additional attachment
Attention: The report should be typed or written VERY clearly.
