Travel to Eilat:

Flights: "Arkia" and "Israir" are the airlines operating flights from Tel Aviv to Eilat.

We recommend Arkia Express service which offers low-fare flights for in advance reservations.

All air-companies operate flights from Ben-Gurion international airport.

Buses: “Egged” Bus Company operates routes from the central bus station in Tel Aviv to Eilat.

Egged web site is http://www.egged.co.il/eng/ Buses N 390, 394.

From Eilat you could travel by return buses to Tel Aviv and by bus N 444 to Jerusalem.

Accommodation:

The rooms for the conference participants are reserved at the

Hotel Adi (3*). All rooms are air-conditioned, breakfast is included.

If you want to make a tea or coffee in the room then bringing your

own small electric kettle (220 V) could be a good idea.

Transportation:

 

We will provide a bus to Eilat on May 14, leaving the Beer Sheva North (University) railway station at 11:30.

During the conference: bus will leave hotel Adi to the university campus on Sunday, May 14 at 16:00; Monday, May 15 --Thursday, May 18 at 08:30.

Return bus to hotel Adi: Sunday at 19:00, Monday at 18:20, Wednesday at 18:20,

Thursday at 17:50, continuing to Beer-Sheva, Ben-Gurion airport and Tel Aviv. Expected arrivals: Beer Sheva 22:00, Airport 23:30; Tel Aviv 00:00.

On Tuesday, May 16 the excursion will leave BGU campus at 14:30 and will return to hotel Adi around 19:00.

The cost of short or medium size journey in Eilat by taxi range from 30-35 shekels.

 

Meals:

Breakfasts will be served in the hotels.

During the working days of the conference free lunches will be organized for all participants in the restaurant

at the university campus. The restaurant is located in the main building N 5, (Map)

where all lectures will take place. The name of the restaurant literally means "Pots and Books".

There will be a Conference dinner.

Banking:

The New Israeli Shekel - abbreviated as NIS, is Israel's currency. There are coins of 10, 50 agorot and 1, 2, 5, 10 shekels, as well as 20, 50, 100 and 200 shekels notes.

Money can be exchanged at any of the street exchange bureau, ATMs or any of Israel's major banks (i.e.- Hapoalim, Leumi, Discount bank, and Hamizrahi).

Banks - When exchanging money at a bank, you will be charged a fixed exchange fee, and if you choose to use an exchange place on the street, you will not be charged for the transaction, but will receive a lower rate than the banks supply.

Exchange rates:1 US\$ $\sim$ 3.6, 1 Euro $\sim$ 3.9 (May 1, 2017).

All major credit cards (Visa and Master Card/Eurocard, American Express and Diners Club) are widely accepted throughout Israel.

Electricity:

The electrical current in Israel is 220 V AC, 50 Hertz.

110V appliances can be used only with a step-up transformer or an appropriate adapter.

Internet Access:

Computer and internet access facilities are available in the building N 5, (Map) where all lectures will take place.

Computers room is N 212 which is very close to the lectures room

For the duration of the conference, a wireless access to the Internet will be arranged.
