Batsheva seminar on Representation Growth

21-26 June 2009

Aim and Scope

Representation Growth is a new and exciting branch of Asymptotic Group Theory.

It lies in the intersection point of several mathematical disciplines, such as Number Theory, Representation Theory, and Model Theory.

The goal of the seminar is to host world experts in this new and developing subject together with PhD students and Post-docs who wish to enter the subject.

There will be a series of four minicourses, 4-5 hours each, which will survey the main developments, tools and open problems in the subject since its birth up to this date.
In addition, there will be ample time for informal conversations between the participants and some time for  research talks to allow experts to present latest results.
